ESP Check Valve
The UMS Flowell ESP Check Valve is designed to prevent backflow through a pump. The check valve is a shuttle type poppet valve arrangement with a spring return.
The spring helps to close the valve prior to fluid flow reversal when the pump is switched off. This eliminates the hydraulic shock also known as water hammer.
The Check valve is normally positioned above the pump and combined with a bleeder valve (tubing drain), to prevent pulling a wet string during the pump workover.
